The 12th Annual Powell Turkey Trot sends runners and walkers through downtown Powell on Thanksgiving morning while raising money for families who need a holiday meal.

The four-mile race begins and ends at Village Green Park, 47 Hall St., on Nov. 26. The kids' Wobble 'Till You Gobble fun runs kick off at 8:30 a.m. with heats for ages 3–6 and ages 7–10, according to the event's RunSignup page. The main four-miler starts at 9 a.m. with no late starts allowed.

This year's charity partner is the Columbus Turkey Drive, a Central Ohio nonprofit entering its sixth year as a 501(c)(3). The organization provided full Thanksgiving dinners to more than 2,000 Central Ohio families in 2025, according to race organizers. Race organizers hope to build on that number with support from participants and local businesses.

Costume contest and prizes

The costume contest returns before the main race, with participants voting on their favorites. Turkey outfits, coordinated family costumes and other holiday creations are encouraged, and cash prizes go to the winners.

Competitive runners have something to chase, too. The timed four-miler awards $400 to the top male and female finishers, $350 for second place and $300 for third.

New beverage partner

Ill Mannered Brewing Company is the new beverage sponsor, stepping in after the closure of Nocterra Brewing Company. Registrants 21 and older can choose a collaboration beer in a collectible glass, while others can opt for custom 12th-anniversary race socks. Participants also receive a finisher's medal and race magnets designed by local elementary school students.

This year's race shirt is scarlet and grey.

Registration and packet pickup

Registration is $55 through Nov. 15. The price rises to $60 on Nov. 16. Nov. 15 is also the deadline to guarantee a shirt, beer or socks.

Packet pickup runs 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25 at the East Community Room, 47 Hall St. There is no race-day pickup, but a friend may collect a packet on a registrant's behalf.
