Powell families can hit three Halloween stops through Oct. 31, starting with a downtown trick-or-treat Saturday, Oct. 24.

The city's Powelloween celebration begins when downtown Powell businesses hand out candy from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, according to Visit Powell. Kids, teens and adults in costume are welcome. A kid-friendly Halloween storytime follows at Escape Into Fiction at 1:15 p.m. No registration is required, but candy runs on a while-supplies-last basis, so bringing a bag is recommended.

Sunday, Oct. 25, brings Candy by the Carload, the city's annual trunk-or-treat at Adventure Park, 260 Adventure Park Drive. The free event runs from 4 to 6 p.m. Local businesses and organizations set up booths and car trunks stocked with candy, toys and other Halloween giveaways, according to Visit Powell's event page. No registration is needed.

Columbus DanceArts Academy will perform a Halloween Hip Hop show during Candy by the Carload, with chances for kids to learn moves and dance along.

Then comes the main event. Powell's citywide trick-or-treat is set for Halloween night, Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., according to a Delaware Source roundup by Taylor Henninger. Most Delaware County communities scheduled their trick-or-treat hours for Oct. 31 itself.

Nearby, Genoa Township holds its Fall Festival and Trick-or-Treat Village on Saturday, Oct. 24, from noon to 3 p.m. at 6142 Lewis Center Road, Galena.
