Girls soccer adds to Allen's milestone run
Liberty entered the Olentangy match at 2-1-1 on the young season and improved to 3-1-1 with the win through five matches.
The victory extended a strong stretch for head coach Chris Allen's program. On Aug. 29, Liberty routed Wapakoneta 8-0, a result that gave Allen his 100th career coaching victory.
Allen is in his sixth season leading the Patriots and ninth overall as a head coach. After the Aug. 29 win, his career record stood at 100-38-21. At Liberty, he was 68-21-13 before Tuesday's result. He came to the program from Big Walnut, where he compiled a 32-17-8 record, according to the school's athletics site.
The move to Liberty has produced sustained postseason success. Allen's teams have won four district titles and reached the regional final twice. His 2023 squad won a regional championship and advanced to the state title game.
Tuesday's win over Olentangy pushed Allen's career mark to 101-38-21.
Girls golf picks up district win
The girls golf team also posted a district victory Tuesday. The opponent and final score were not included in the athletics department's results post.
