Olentangy Liberty girls soccer head coach Chris Allen hit a milestone Aug. 29 when his team shut out Wapakoneta 8-0 at home for his 100th career victory.
The OLHS Athletics account announced the milestone on X after the shutout. Four Patriot programs competed Saturday, and two came home with wins.
Girls soccer
The 8-0 margin gave Allen the round number in a season that has seen Liberty open with a 2-2 tie against Gahanna Lincoln on Aug. 20, a 2-0 win over Notre Dame Academy on Aug. 22 and a win over Olentangy Berlin on Aug. 25, according to MaxPreps.
Field hockey
The Patriots rolled to a 5-1 road win over Dublin Jerome, extending their unbeaten start to 4-0.
Liberty has outscored opponents 29-3 through four games, with earlier wins over Lancaster (10-0), Granville (10-1) and Mount Notre Dame (4-1), according to MaxPreps. The field hockey team travels to Upper Arlington on Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
Volleyball
Liberty's run at the Columbus Invitational Tournament ended with a fourth-place finish. The Patriots went 2-2 at the CIT, beating Sacred Heart, Ky., 2-1 and Kings 2-0 on Aug. 28, before falling to Padua Franciscan 0-2 and Mason on Saturday.
Liberty stands at 5-1 on the season. MaxPreps ranks the Patriots No. 7 in Ohio Division I. Through the team's first six matches, freshman outside hitter Quinn Smith leads with 3.1 kills per set, while senior defensive specialist Delaney Larkin averages 4.8 digs per set.
Liberty hosts Dublin Jerome on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.
Cross country
Both the boys and girls cross country teams finished seventh at the PNHS invitational on Saturday, according to the OLHS Athletics account on X. Individual results were not available.
Up next for Liberty: field hockey at Upper Arlington on Sept. 2, and volleyball vs. Dublin Jerome on Sept. 3.
