Four Powell- and Lewis Center-area businesses are offering fall drinks and dishes.
Destination Delaware County published a fall food and drink guide Sunday, Oct. 25, spotlighting spots across the county. Several sit squarely in the Powell-Olentangy area.
Olentangy River Brewing Company in Lewis Center is serving a seasonal drink called the S'moretado. The cortado-style espresso with warm milk comes with a glass rimmed in chocolate and graham cracker crumbs and topped with toasted marshmallows. The brewery is at 303 Green Meadows Dr. South.
Moser's Farm Market at 3350 Clark Shaw Road in Powell is stocked for fall with local apples, cider and treats. Owners Brad and Christina Moser sell hard cider brewed on the farm and non-alcoholic cider slushies. Christina Moser sources apples from her grandfather's Brumbaugh Fruit Farm in Arcanum, Ohio.
In a July profile by The Delaware Source, Brad Moser said his hard ciders use no more than three ingredients. "Everything is either all apples, apples and peaches, or the dreamsicle is legitimately apples, orange and vanilla," he said.
The couple moved onto the Clark Shaw Road property in 2017. Brad Moser spent that winter gutting and cleaning the old barn, keeping century-old beams intact. The space now houses the market and hosts Farmstead Fridays, weekly gatherings with live music and food where kids run around outside and neighbors stop to talk, according to The Delaware Source.
Local Roots at 15 E. Olentangy St. in downtown Powell has a seasonal butternut squash soup with candied bacon, available by the cup or bowl. The restaurant's fall lineup also features butternut squash ravioli with brown butter sage sauce and shaved Brussels sprouts, according to its seasonal menu. Local Roots says it operates a 95% seed-oil-free kitchen.
Standardized Brewing at 5920 Evans Farm Dr. in Lewis Center offers both craft beer and coffee. The fall coffee menu includes a Pumpkin Spice White Mocha and a Hot Spice Girl Latte. The brewery has 18 different beers.
