Two men from the city of Delaware charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Tamela D. Dutcher, 55, on Bean-Oller Road are expected to be arraigned Aug. 17, in Delaware County.

Dajameous Payne, 21, and Christian Evans, 20, were arrested Aug. 14 after the Delaware County Sheriff's Office and the multi-agency Delaware Tactical Unit executed a search warrant in the city of Delaware. Both were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Delaware County Jail, according to a DCSO press release reported by the Delaware Source.

The sheriff's office said additional charges may follow.

Dutcher's daughter, Bryanna Dutcher, 18, was also arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. She is being held in the Delaware County Jail. The sheriff's office has not disclosed her arraignment date or the nature of her alleged involvement.

The shooting

The 911 call came in at 12:25 a.m. on Aug. 14, from the 1600 block of Bean-Oller Road, south of Delaware. Dutcher's husband told dispatchers someone had entered the home and shot his wife, according to 10TV.

He told the dispatcher he had been watching television in the basement when he heard a gunshot. "When I was looking at my wife there was another shot either in the dining room or upstairs or one of the front rooms, then I hear the door swing open and I just saw the back of someone running out the door," he said in the call.

First responders transported Dutcher to an area hospital within minutes of arriving. She died several hours later from apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigation ongoing

The sheriff's office has not disclosed a motive or explained the relationship between Payne, Evans and the Dutcher family. The investigation remains active.

Payne and Evans are expected in court Monday. No additional details about the arraignment have been released.
