US 42 north of County Home Road will close Monday, Nov. 2, for a culvert replacement expected to last 30 days.
The closure is listed as a new impact in ODOT information compiled in 1808Delaware's weekly road project report for Nov. 1–7. Drivers who use that stretch will need to follow a detour: US 42 to SR 229 to SR 61 to I-71 to US 36/SR 37 to US 42, or the reverse.
The closure could stretch into early December. All work is weather permitting, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).
Lane restrictions on US 36 at 'The Point'
Eastbound US 36 at SR 37, known as "The Point," has various lane restrictions that began Oct. 28 and run through Nov. 15. The advisory does not specify which lanes would be affected on particular days.
SR 229 projects
Two separate SR 229 projects continue to affect traffic in Delaware County.
SR 229 east of Weiser Road has been closed since Oct. 19 for a bridge rehabilitation project, also expected to last 30 days. The posted detour runs US 23 to SR 98 to SR 529 to SR 746 to US 42 to SR 229, or the reverse.
Separately, SR 229 between US 23 and the Village of Ashley has daytime lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a resurfacing project that began in May. That work is scheduled to continue through fall 2026.
I-71 ramp restriction
The I-71 northbound ramp to US 36/SR 37 at the Sunbury Parkway interchange remains reduced to one lane. That restriction has been in place since April and is also expected to last through fall 2026.
Drivers can check real-time conditions at OHGO.com or follow ODOT District 6 on social media for changes to any of these projects.
