All four Olentangy-area high school football teams begin Ohio Capital Conference play Friday, Sept. 25, as the regular season enters its second half.

Olentangy Liberty hosts Dublin Coffman, Olentangy Orange hosts Hilliard Davidson, Olentangy Berlin travels to Hilliard Darby and the Olentangy Braves visit Thomas Worthington. The OCC Cardinal, Central and Ohio divisions all open league play this week, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

Here's where each matchup stands.

Berlin Bears (3-2) at Hilliard Darby (3-2)

Mark Nori's Bears carry the area's best record into league play. Sophomore quarterback Austin Knapke opened the season with a pair of touchdown passes in a 21-6 win over defending state champion Olentangy Orange. Running back Owen Miller rushed for 63 yards and scored on a 27-yard run in Berlin's Sept. 18 win over Westerville Central, and kicker Jackson Lewis drilled a 48-yard field goal in the same game.

Darby enters at 3-2 after a 10-7 loss to unbeaten Gahanna Lincoln on Sept. 18. Both teams are 3-2 overall heading into their OCC Cardinal Division opener.

Olentangy Liberty Patriots (2-3) vs. Dublin Coffman

Third-year head coach John Sansbury's Patriots have split their last four games, beating Olentangy Berlin 27-17 on Sept. 11 and Olentangy 17-14 on Sept. 18 after early losses to St. Edward, Cleveland Glenville and Gahanna Lincoln in overtime.

Quarterback Alex Leonard and Columbia University commit Grayson Davis anchor the offense. "We have one of the toughest schedules in Ohio, and we like that," Sansbury told the Delaware Gazette in an Aug. 11 preseason preview. "We have to bring our best every week."

Coffman lost to Grove City 42-35 on Sept. 18.

Olentangy Orange Pioneers (2-3) vs. Hilliard Davidson

The defending Division I state champions have struggled to replace the 16 starters and more than 30 seniors who graduated after last year's 15-0 title run. Head coach Wes Schroeder's rebuilt offense was averaging 189.5 yards per game through four games, according to the Dispatch. Orange lost 51-7 to Pickerington North on Sept. 18.

Senior linebacker Brennan Kesler, who set the program's single-season sack record with 13 last year, leads the defense. Davidson beat Central Crossing 33-10 on Sept. 18.

Olentangy Braves (1-4) at Thomas Worthington (2-3)

Head coach Wade Bartholomew's Braves have their lone win, a 42-0 shutout of Central Crossing on Sept. 11. Quarterback Tommy Hartings has started behind center this season. Thomas Worthington sits at 2-3 in the Cardinal Division.

The OHSAA regular season runs through Oct. 24, with playoffs beginning Oct. 30.
