Laura Moore will discuss the lifecycle and migration of the monarch butterfly at a presentation Monday, Oct. 19, at Powell City Hall.
The Powell Liberty Historical Society is hosting the program, titled "The Majestic Monarch: Metamorphosis and Migration," from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Municipal Building Community Room, also known as the East Room. The society described the talk as an overview of the monarch's lifecycle and migratory patterns, with a focus on how residents can help preserve the species and boost its population, according to the group's website.
The historical society asks attendees to register in advance through its website, by email or by phone. Registration is required for the event.
The monarch presentation is one of several history-themed programs in the Delaware County area during October, listed on the Delaware County History Network's calendar.
The Powell Liberty Historical Society also offers free open-house tours at the Martin-Perry House, 103 E. Olentangy St., on the first and third Sundays of each month. Tours run 1 to 4 p.m. Volunteers staff the society's offices on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
