Powell scheduled its official trick-or-treat for Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., according to the city's events page.

The date puts Powell out of step with the regional recommendation. The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) set Thursday, Oct. 29, as the suggested date for central Ohio because Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026. Individual municipalities choose whether to follow the recommendation, according to MORPC's website.

Dublin, Westerville, Columbus, Hilliard, Upper Arlington and Gahanna are among the communities holding trick-or-treat Oct. 29, NBC4 reported. Powell is not alone in choosing Halloween night. Galena, Genoa Township, Ostrander, Sunbury, Worthington and Grandview Heights also set their dates for Oct. 31.

MORPC noted the recommended date will not change for inclement weather.

Powell's trick-or-treat runs citywide Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.
