Fara Waugh, the CEO who helped shape SourcePoint into Delaware County's most comprehensive aging-services provider, will retire in 2027 after more than three decades with the organization.

SourcePoint's board of directors announced the planned departure on Friday, Sept. 11. Waugh will stay on until her successor is in place, with the transition expected by late spring 2027.

Waugh joined SourcePoint in 1995, three years after the nonprofit was founded to help Delaware County seniors live safely at home. She rose through the organization overseeing in-home care, nutrition services, caregiver support and insurance education before the board named her CEO in 2019.

Board president Pamela Foster said Waugh's influence reaches across the county's senior programs.

"Fara's impact on SourcePoint and on older adults throughout Delaware County is difficult to overstate … Over more than three decades, she has helped build programs, develop partnerships, mentor professionals, and position SourcePoint to meet the evolving needs of a rapidly growing community," Foster said.

Under Waugh's leadership, SourcePoint maintained daily Meals on Wheels deliveries throughout the COVID-19 pandemic without missing a single day of service. The program now delivers more than 1,200 meals a day to more than 600 residents across Powell, Lewis Center, Sunbury and other Delaware County communities. Meals are prepared fresh each day in SourcePoint's on-site kitchen at 800 Cheshire Road.

In 2025, the organization purchased that Cheshire Road facility outright, a move the board called a step toward long-term stability.

Waugh said she is proud of what the team has built and excited about what lies ahead. She said SourcePoint is "a strong organization with an extraordinary team, a clear mission, and deep community support" and that she looks forward to helping make the transition a success.

Foster described the change as a planned transition from a position of strength. The board will conduct a comprehensive search for the next CEO, though a search firm has not yet been named.

The retirement caps a career defined by steady expansion. In a May 2026 proclamation of Older Americans Month, Waugh told Delaware County commissioners that "older adults are the backbone of our community," calling them "leaders, volunteers, caregivers, mentors, neighbors …" who strengthen the county every day.

SourcePoint is partially funded by a local property tax levy and serves adults 55 and older countywide. The nonprofit relies on hundreds of volunteers and private donations alongside government grants.

Upcoming: SourcePoint's annual Speakeasy fundraiser is set for Thursday, Sept. 17, at Bridgewater Banquet Center, 10561 Sawmill Road in Powell. Tickets are $100 per person and available at MySourcePoint.org/speakeasy or by calling 740-363-6677.
